The Wine

The Rutherford Runway Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from my family’s own vineyard. This low yielding block of grapes produces an intense wine with aromas of white peach and key lime. The entry shows rich flavors of nectarine, guava, and lemon meringue, supported by elegant minerality and lively acidity. Sur lie aging rounds out this wine, creating a broad mid palate and a smooth lingering finish.

The Vineyard

Many of Napa's original visionaries flew in and out of the valley using a small dirt runway situated in a corner of the vast Inglenook Estate. Built in 1947, the Rutherford Runway allowed these pioneering winemakers to land directly in the heart of the valley, bringing with them new ideas, techniques and vine cuttings.

For nearly fifty years the runway served vintners and growers in this manner, until new owners had it removed in the early 1990s to make room for more vines.

In 2005 my parents, David and Leslie, purchased a pristine plot at the foot of the runway and planted one acre of Sauvignon Blanc, the first vines ever planted on this exact site. We’re proud to have cultivated this vineyard, enabling us to craft an authentic wine that celebrates the heritage of our community.
